Homo Deus, 2023
Bicycle wheel, cables, dolls, nails
100cm x 70cm x 70cm
For years, popular media has feared that machines would overtake homo sapiens, however, science predicts a gradual merging of humanity and technology instead. The sculpture explores the loss of the human body as a physical space, using the same materials future bodies will be composed of. The mobile's wheel creates a sense of time, where the shadows cast represent the outcome of the human-machine synthesis: the Homo Deus, a version of humanity we cannot picture yet, but that is nonetheless approaching.
